The Berrien County Mathematics and Science Center is one of 33 regional centers in the Michigan Mathematics and Science Center Network. The Network supports the delivery of high quality mathematics and science education for all students in Michigan.

The Center is one of seven centers in the Network that offers a half-day high school accelerated program. The Center is a member of the National Consortium of Specialized Secondary Schools for Mathematics, Science and Technology (NCSSSMST).

Purpose
The Center provides outreach services to local school districts in the areas of professional development, curriculum support, student services, leadership, community involvement, and resource materials. The Center partners with the Berrien RESA to provide curriculum specialists in mathematics and science.

The purpose of the Berrien County Mathematics and Science Center Accelerated High School Program is to enrich the quality of mathematics, science, and technology education by inspiring and challenging the most academically able high school students. This enrichment is accomplished by providing students with exciting explorations in mathematics, science, and technology through an enriched environment and rigorous curriculum.

History
Fall of 1991, the Berrien County Mathematics and Science Center welcomed its first freshman class and began to provide outreach services to local districts. A collaboration of local school districts, Andrews University, and business and industry, the Center - operated by Berrien RESA - was established to provide an accelerated program for students in Berrien and Cass counties. Of the 33 Math and Science Centers in Michigan, the Berrien County program is one of only seven where students attend classes at an off-site school for half a day.
