Engaging Students in Research

 

The Berrien County Mathematics and Science Center, in partnership with NCSSSMST and the Berrien County Intermediate School District (BCISD), offers the six-week online course, Engaging Students in Research.

The next offering of Engaging Students in Research will be fall 2008.

Registration:
  1. Goto http://www.berriencountyisd.org.
  2. Click on "Professional Development Catalog" in the upper right corner.
  3. In the catalog, enter Engaging Students in Research in the title.
  4. When you find the course, click on the course title to begin the registration process.

The purpose of the online course is to provide professional development in support of NCSSSMST’s publication Guiding Student Research Making Research Happen in Your School. Through guided study, students will develop knowledge and skills to deliver a student research program.

The course is delivered on a BCISD server using Moodle, an online student

The course cost is $150 and is offered during the months of October and November. Students may earn two hours of graduate credit for an additional fee. A copy of Guiding Student Research is included in the registration fee.

Graduate credit is offered by Andrews University, Grand Valley State University and Western Michigan University. Michigan participants can earn 6 SB-CEUs for an additional fee.
